3 new ways to support wellbeing with team-care check-ins

3 new ways to support wellbeing with team-care check-ins

If you’re a forward-thinking HR person, you’re probably already looking for new ways to support Employee Wellbeing, remotely or in otherwise. It feels a bit like we’re all standing around holding bricks with no idea what we’re supposed to be building.

Luckily for you (and for us), every day our team gets to work with over 100 brilliant HR teams. Together, sometimes we come up with some new and unusual HR strategies that really work.

That’s why I talked to Lauren, one of our Customer Success real-life comic book heroes. I asked her for 3 new ways other HR teams are nurturing employee wellbeing with everyone working from home.

Here’s what she shared:

To wrap up these 3 new and unusual approaches:

  1. Try a team or company-wide 5-10 minute ‘Social Buffer’ for every meeting. Building in social time ensures it happens.

  2. A physical challenge – we use 4-minute planking competitions across our organisation, facilitated via Zoom. Savannah has the record with 03:31 (we’re currently accepting external challenges.)

  3. Automate a simple thumbs/thumbs down wellbeing check-in – this is a form you send out regularly (once a month for us) with just thumbs up/down responses. You can sort the responses by thumbs up/down and immediately follow up any thumbs down with a call, then check-in later with the others.

Supporting and nurturing employee health and wellbeing doesn’t always mean big, expensive projects. Especially right now. Sometimes, it’s the little things, the social moments injected into the isolated days, that help people feel connected again.

Ps: Want to be part of our team coming up with fun new ways of making HR great? You can join us and get started right here with our free product. Welcome to the team.
